Vital Arts, a nonprofit working to ensure access to safe, affordable spaces for artists and musicians to live, work, and perform, is helping get the word out to the creative community. They are part of a coalition headed by the Northern California Community Land Trust (NCLT) to support households in Alameda, Contra Costa, Solano, and San Francisco counties.
About the Program
Artists and cultural workers behind on rent due to COVID-related hardships who make below 80% of Area Median Income can apply for rent relief through the State of CA. Over $3 billion has been allocated by the state and federal governments to pay off back rent.
To check eligibility, apply, or find a Local Partner Network organization that can assist you further, visit HousingIsKey.com or call 833-430-2122, toll-free.
Artists and cultural workers needing individual help completing their application can contact the State Hotline or NCLT for sensitive, confidential support, including for nontraditional live/work housing and/or joint tenancies. Set up an appointment through the state hotline at 833-430-2122 OR call or email NCLT at 510-548-7878 - option 2 / firstname.lastname@example.org.
Deadlines are tight since eviction protections expire June 30th.
