Musicians who have made a living playing blues, jazz, and roots music know they can call the Jazz Foundation of America's office at any time for help in solving an emergency. They average 30 individual musician emergency cases a day, approximately 9,000 assists every year. Preventing homelessness with housing assistance, keeping artists healthy with pro bono medical care, and providing financial support that keeps the lights on and food on the table are all only a fraction of the services offered by the foundation.
The COVID-19 Musicians' Emergency fund supports jazz musicians who are well into their career, offering relief from financial loss after losing gigs due to COVID-19. To qualify, applicants must have at least 5 years in the jazz industry.
